new electric vans to be released in 2022

Electric vans are becoming more and more popular as the running costs are cheaper, the plethora of environmental benefits they hold and the upcoming ban in the UK on petrol and diesel vehicles.

The UK alone saw 22,975 new registrations in May 2021 for electric vehicles, which has accelerated significantly in the last couple of years. With this increase in demand, comes an increase in the number of new vans that are released by manufacturers. There are already good vans on the market, but as we come close to 2022, there are even more coming to the market. Every year manufacturers will introduce new and improved vehicles and technologies, to ensure there is a wide range of up-to-date and reliable vehicles on the road. Electric vehicles come with many benefits, including playing an important role in tackling environmental issues.

If you use a van for business or own a small fleet, now is the ideal time to consider upgrading to an electric van.

Benefits of Running an Electric Van for your Business

Save you Money

An electric van can save your business a lot of money because they are considerably cheaper to run. After all, the cost per mile is lower with electricity than petrol or diesel. They are also cheaper to maintain as electric vans are known to have fewer moving parts and do not need replacing as often.

Future Proof your Business

Upgrading to an electric van in 2022 can help future proof your business as vans are being forced to meet tighter emission standards in line with changing policies to help improve air quality. Not to mention the Government ban on new petrol and diesel vans by 2040.

Summary

This post has outlined some of the new vans that are coming in 2022, but this list is not exhaustive. Manufacturers are constantly looking for new ways to bring competitive electric vehicles on the market with the best technology and performance. There are all kinds of options available to suit your business requirements, with new vehicles emerging all the time, as demands increase and Governmental policies increase the urgency for better emissions.

Best Electric Van

The best electric van depends on your business and your specific requirements. It has been suggested that the best electric vans currently on the market are as follows:

Best small electric van
Renault Kangoo Z.E

Best mid-sized electric van
Vauxhall Vivaro-e

Best large electric van
Mercedes eSprinter

Cheapest Electric Van

Each van offers a range of variants and configurations, for example, long wheelbase vans, short wheelbase vans, etc. which can impact the overall price. All-electric vans are cheap to run, in comparison to the common petrol or diesel van. The Nissan eNV200 is one of the lowest priced electric vans currently on the market, starting as low as £19,116 plus VAT.

Electric Van Grant

You may be eligible for a grant if you purchase an electric vehicle. This grant usually provides you with a discount on the full price of an electric vehicle if it meets certain criteria, which includes the type of vehicles (small and large vans are included), the amount of CO2 emissions and the time it can travel without emissions at all. The Government will pay a certain percentage (currently 35%) of the purchase price, up to a maximum amount. For small vans, the maximum amount is currently £3,000 and large vans are £6,000. You may also get a grant for a vehicle charger to install at your home.

An electric vehicle is the way forward, for the environment, but for costs and performance, too. There is little to think about in the maintenance of your electric vehicle, and there are many electrical charging points for home or work that can support your new venture.

I contacted EV Solutions to have a charger fitted at my home, Brendon provided all the information I needed and quickly came back with options and quotes, even bringing a couple types to my home for me to see and make my mind up over. Eventually went for the EO Mini Pro 2, and a fitting date was arranged. EV Solutions turned up at the right time and fitted the unit. The finished job is extremely neat, and it works as it should. Great service from this local company. Recommended.read more
